Karate is off to a great start and I am so excited to see everyone's progress. Students have been learning a pattern of techniques that they should be trying to remember and practice at home so that we can continue adding more as the weeks go on.
Parents and students: Please remember that we talk often about the nature of good karate, and how it is for self defense only. I have asked all of the students to make a promise to me that they will NOT use their karate on family, friends, or anyone else that they know.
Lastly, I have sent paperwork home about an upcoming event called the "Annual Inter-school Tournament" This is not a mandatory event but I did want to allow access to the full list of opportunities karate training with Ingram's Karate Center provides. If you are interested, please email us for registration information, to firstname.lastname@example.org - No additional lessons are needed, just come to class and practice at home to be ready. We have a non-contact, beginners division designed for new karate students, hope you can come!

I am so proud of everyone! The students are showing such enthusiasm when learning their new skills and I am so grateful for their positive attitudes and focus. Keep up the great work guys!!
Some families have expressed the desire to study terminology for karate classes at home. Here are some of the common words used in class and what they mean. Below the terms are some history Q&A for those interested in leveling up to testing for yellow belt. You can find more information about Isshinryu karate history at the Ingram's Karate website at www.ingramskarate.com. Keep in mind that every child will progress at a different rate, when you child is eligible for testing I will send home an 'invitation to testing' paper so that your family can decide how you would like to proceed.
